SALA Slide Night 2024

SALA’s Slide Night is based on Pecha-Kucha methods of presenting, with each artist speaking for 5 minutes with their slides advancing automatically. Each year a different mix of artists present with performances ranging from their art practice to an art movement or something entirely different. Christina delivered an OWHS presentation on ‘Crushing’.

This event was an opportunity for the public to engage with the exhibition ‘Resourceful Women and Desperate Stratagems’ through various activations. A love letter exchange offered the opportunity to write and receive a love letter, Jacqui Lim serenaded attendees with love songs and a newly commissioned artwork was on display by Sarah Tickle. Jamila Main brought the fairy tales that inspired the artwork to life through her readings in the gallery. Audiences could learn more about the artwork and ask questions of the artist during an artist talk between Christina Peek and Eleanor Scicchitano.
